Author Guidelines

Please read these guidelines carefully before preparing your manuscript. Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned without review.

Types of Articles Accepted

  • Original Research Articles — New findings, experiments, or studies. No length restriction.
  • Review Articles — Comprehensive, critical analysis of existing literature. Must cover at least 50 references.
  • Short Communications — Brief reports of significant new findings. Maximum 2,500 words.
  • Case Studies — Detailed analysis of a specific real-world instance or problem.
  • Technical Notes — Description of new methods, tools, datasets, or software.

Manuscript Preparation

File Format

Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.docx) or LaTeX (.tex) format. PDF is accepted only for initial review; a Word/LaTeX source file will be required upon acceptance.

Language

All manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatical English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to have their manuscript professionally edited before submission.

Manuscript Structure

  3. 3Corresponding author email
  4. 4Abstract (150–300 words, structured: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion)
  5. 5Keywords (4–8 terms, not repeating the title)

  7. 7Materials & Methods / Methodology
  8. 8Results
  9. 9Discussion
  10. 10Conclusion
  11. 11Acknowledgements (funding sources, etc.)
  12. 12Conflict of Interest Statement
  13. 13References
  14. 14Figures and Tables (with captions)

Formatting Requirements

Font: Times New Roman or Arial, 12pt
Line Spacing: Double spaced
Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
Page Numbers: Bottom centre, starting from 1
Figures: Minimum 300 DPI, TIFF or EPS preferred
Tables: Editable in Word, not images
Equations: Use MathType or LaTeX notation
Abbreviations: Define at first use in text

References

References must follow the APA 7th Edition or Vancouver style consistently throughout the manuscript.

APA Example:

Smith, J. A., & Brown, K. (2024). Deep learning applications in healthcare. Journal of Computer Allied Intelligence, 3(2), 45–58. https://doi.org/10.69996/jcai.2024005

  • Cite all references in the text using author-date (APA) or numbered (Vancouver) format.
  • Only references cited in the text should appear in the reference list.
  • Use DOIs wherever available.
  • Minimum 20 references for original research articles.
  • Self-citations should not exceed 15% of total references.

Submission Process

    Prepare Files

    Manuscript file (Word/LaTeX) + cover letter + figures (if separate).

    Online Submission

    Submit via the online portal. You will receive a confirmation email with your manuscript ID.

    Desk Review

    Editors check scope, format, and plagiarism (usually within 3 days). Manuscripts outside scope are returned immediately.

  5. 5

    Peer Review

    Suitable manuscripts are sent to 2–3 expert reviewers. Double-blind process.

  6. 6

    Decision

    Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject. First decision typically within 7–20 days.

    Revision

    If revisions are required, authors have 21 days to respond with a detailed response letter.

  8. 8

    Acceptance & Production

    Accepted manuscripts are copy-edited, typeset, and assigned a DOI. Published within 10 days of acceptance.
